Game of Thrones bucketlist: Part 4

Hello wonderful creations of this planet,

Today I’m yet again giving you another part of sublist of my bucketlist.

I’m a game of thrones fans, love it so much, because of the beautiful bucketlist bla bla bla. Here’s a link to part 1,23 in case you’ve missed it. And without further ado, let’s get into it.

Disclaimer: the pictures are courtesy of atlas obscuraijsland-info and My visit North Iceland. These are bucketlist items so I haven’t had the chance to visit these places yet!

Jon and Ygritte’s love cave, Mývatn, Grjótagjá, Iceland

One moment it suddenly became extremely hot in the cold North and That’s in season 5 in the episode kissed by fire, where Jon Snow broke his night’s watch vows with the beautiful wildling Ygritte. Their love scene wasn’t the only thing beautiful in the show, but the cave where it was ‘filmed’ was equally beautiful.

The cave is located around an Icelandic lake called Myvatn with about fifty islands, Myvatn is the third largest lake in Iceland with a surface of 37 square meters. It’s also known as the mosquito lake, because of the many mosquitos coming out of the water in the summer.

Grjótagjá is a vulcanic cave with a thermal spring near Myvatn, this cave was used as the filming location, but the ‘bathing’ scene took place in a studio, due to the temperature being too high, for people to bathe in the water due to volcanic eruptions.Though it was a popular bathing site until the 1970s, but the temperature of the water is slowly decreasing. Which increases the chance of popularity in the future.

I wouldn’t mind to wait for it too cool down and take a dive in this thermal spring! Well that was it for now, COMMENT, LIKE, SHARE, FOLLOW and I wish you an awesome life!
